I’m back in my comfort zone today with another psychological thriller. Could it be your next read?
Blurb
FOUR FRIENDS. THREE ENEMIES. TWO TRAGEDIES. ONE TERRIBLE TRUTH.
A small English town is rocked by the disappearance of a local woman, Tina. As the search continues, someone is targeting her former best friends for revenge. Lauren, Jess, Claire. They all hide secrets. Who knows what they did? Who’s watching them? The truth is stranger and far more sinister than they can ever imagine.
A dark, twisty thriller which will grip you until the very last page.

Review
Bed-ridden following my booster, We Watch You was the perfect antidote. I read the book in just one day, fuelled by a desire to know what happens. For the most part, I enjoyed the conclusion. It was wrapped up well and there were twists I just didn’t see coming. However, there was one element to the book I didn’t really get (I won’t be divulging what as this is a spoiler-free zone!). I think it either needed more intertwining with the rest of the plot or have been removed entirely, which wouldn’t have effected the overall story.
We Watch You is told mostly from the perspective of Lauren, with shorter chapters coming from Tina’s blog and unidentified characters. Having several perspectives can usually hurt the flow of the story but I felt it was all interwoven well. I also enjoyed the characters. While Lauren is set up as the “good one”, she is by no means perfect, and the others are worse. I liked that. Having a holier than thou character is another way to kill a story.
Overall, We Watch You is a great read. Pick up your copy of the book here.
