I’m excited to be back today with another self-help book. I’m proud that so far I’ve been keeping to my resolution to post more reviews of this type. I hope you’re enjoying them!

Stepping Out in Love by Gayle Suzanne is a collection of 50 short stories written to help the reader through the pain of divorce. They range from learning how to do new tasks to learning to live on your own and finding love again.

Review

Ok, I haven’t gone through a divorce and, considering I’m not married, am not likely to go through one anytime soon. However, I still want to share books here that may not necessarily perfect for me but might help at least one person out there. So, I went into this book with a completely open mind.

I thought to myself if the author at least satisfies my curiosity into other people’s lives, it will be a worthwhile read for me. And she did. We really get an inside into Gayle’s life and the various emotions she felt at different points from the initial split to forming one new family from two families.

Then, I started to realize, I really like how this author writes. She feels like a friend. Her style is down-to-earth and doesn’t give the impression that her story and advice is superior to others. It was at this point I realized I would recommend Stepping Out in Love to anyone I know going through a divorce.

However, the icing on the cake was when I realized that this book is for everyone. There is lots of good advice in Stepping Out in Love for people who have been hurt and who have low self-confidence. It reminded me that we are all worthy of happiness – even myself.

Overall, this felt like a chat with a friend rather than a self-help book. If that’s something you need right now, I certainly recommend picking up a copy.

I was sent a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

  1. This sounds like something I’d really enjoy. I love things that feel like a friend. Not married and never been divorced but this still sounds interesting to me x
