There is no doubt about it, books are my absolute life. Reading is the only way in which I can clear my mind completely, and enjoy a few peaceful hours stress and worry free. My apartment feels bare if I don’t have at least three books on my shelf waiting to be read, as well as a close-knit group of my all-time favourites. Books are such a big part of my life that I have come to the conclusion that they are, in fact, better than people.

They teach you valuable life lessons without hurting you in the process.
Books are always there when you need them, through all those loses, hangovers and moments when the refrigerator is empty.
Books don’t judge others. They accept that you have your own genre preferences and allow you to try out others without any critical hardship.
They allow you to go on adventures and see places which your bank account won’t allow you to.
Books much more easily accomodate your life and are happy to go where ever you do. They don’t even take up too much space.
The characters in books are often lifelong friends. They offer a different take on life every time you reach a momentous stage, but always provide the advice you need.
What books have you been reading lately? Here are a list of books which have made it onto Joyful Antidotes recently.
Witchcraft Couture by Katarina West
’Salem’s Lot by Stephen King
Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime by Mark Haddon
I absolutely love this post and completely agree with you, I am just starting the hunger games series now actually have you read them? xx
Yup, I read them. They are so, so good. You will love them. If you want something similar afterwards, I recommend the Divergent series.
