Lent: The Review

Lucozade Orange and a Munchies Easter Egg – my Easter treats!

It is Easter Sunday and the first thing I did when I woke up was reached for these bad boys. Chocolate eggs for breakfast is a staple of Easter Sunday, but this year the Lucozade tasted so much better – it was the end of my Lenten ban on fizzy drinks.

So, how did I get on? Well, it was a case of so close but yet so far; I succeeded but I failed. Everything was going well until my trip to London. After all my worrying about how I would avoid diving right into a refrigerator filled with Lucozade, I ended up drinking Red Bull by accident because I forgot it was in a shot. It actually took me two days to realise the error of my ways. What saddened me even more than breaking my vow was the fact that it was wasted on Red Bull, a drink I don’t even like.

Besides that little slip up, I did excellently. While I craved a cold glass of Coca Cola from time to time, it was actually not that hard to restrain myself. There are so many other delicious, healthier drinks out there that it was not a real problem at all. I will indulge on fizzy goodness today though, but will try to limit myself to a glass here and there now that I know I can.

What did you give up for Lent? Let me know how you got on in the comments below.

  1. That is amazing well done you everyone has a slip up at everything I think! I haven’t done so well I gave up meat for a month but that’s all I could manage…I then tried sugar that didn’t work so well haha xx

  2. Sugar can be really hard. It is in so many things and is difficult to avoid. I also tried bread one year and failed terribly. I drank so many fizzy drinks since Sunday though I really think I need to go on a detox from them again ha.
