This post is going to be short, but yet very sweet. Not thanks to me though. I defy any Irish person not to be moved by the video below which was put together by Fáilte Ireland. I found this on Joe.ie and made the mistake of watching it while in work. I was a blubbering mess. Anyone who has followed this blog for a while now will know that I moved to Berlin nearly 3 years ago to discover what the rest of the world had to offer me, and to also better myself and my working skills somewhere else while Ireland could not provide that for me. While I am happy and content in my current life, I look forward to the day when I can finally return home and carry on my life there. My experience in Berlin is once which I will never forget, but as the old cliché states, ‘home is where the heart is’. Leaving your homeland stirs a sense of national pride that you never knew was buried within you. I am proud of my country for all the reasons listed in this video and more. Certainly, you will find me this Sunday at the Berlin St. Patrick’s Day event celebrating the day with an overwhelming sense of pride. To all the begrudgers who think there is no coming back for Ireland – we have done it once and we will do it again with the help and persistence of our wonderful people. See you all back home in a couple of years!
Very beautiful.
Thanks a lot. Glad you liked it 🙂
