Just a short post for you today as we enter into Christmas week. I was trying to think of something really elaborate to say about the meaning of Christmas but I just can’t seem to put my thoughts into words. What I feel instead is the knot in the pit of my stomach as I get excited, and the tears of happiness which spring to my eyes when I think about going home to friends and family. I could not even find some quotes online which describe how I feel, hence the short post. I have put three which may give some inkling to my thoughts. I also put a video of my favorite Christmas song which you can listen to and recall your own feelings and memories. Have a great one everybody!
Christmas… is not an external event at all, but a piece of one’s home that one carries in one’s heart – Freya Stark
It’s true, Christmas can feel like a lot of work, particularly for mothers. But when you look back on all the Christmases in your life, you’ll find you’ve created family traditions and lasting memories. Those memories, good and bad, are really what help to keep a family together over the long haul – Caroline Kennedy
But I am sure that I have always thought of Christmas time, when it has come round… as a good time; a kind, forgiving, charitable, pleasant time; the only time I know of, in the long calendar of the year, when men and women seem by one consent to open their shut-up hearts freely – Charles Dickens
