Quotes Series III: Me? I Am An Optimist!

OptimismHello and thanks for returning to the third post in my quotes series. Sorry it is late but it has been a hectic weekend! I must say that I am really enjoying writing these up for you and hope that you are enjoying reading them as much!

This week’s theme is optimism, admittedly something I have been lacking quite a bit this week. It is very easy to get caught up in life’s problems and often we find ourselves wallowing away in self-pity having decided that things will never get any better. Lucky for us it does. So here I present to you my favorite quotes to help remind ourselves to, in the words of Monty Python, ‘always look on the bright side of life’.

Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence – Helen Keller

A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty – Winston Churchill

It is better to be an optimist who is sometimes wrong than a pessimist who is always right – Unknown

We either make ourselves happy or miserable. The amount of work is the same – Carlos Castaneda

I don’t think you lead by pessimism and cynicism. I think you lead by optimism and enthusiasm and energy – Patricia Ireland

Do not anticipate trouble, or worry about what may never happen. Keep in the sunlight – Benjamin Franklin

Determine the thing that can and shall be done, and then we shall find the way – Abraham Lincoln

Between the optimist and the pessimist, the difference is droll. The optimist sees the doughnut; the pessimist the hole – Oscar Wilde

Optimist: Person who travels on nothing from nowhere to happiness – Mark Twain

For myself I am an optimist – it does not seem to be much use being anything else – Winston Churchill
