Tardiness and The Happiness Project – March Edition

I am a bit late with the month’s update. Oops. I kept running over in my head what I wanted to write but I never quite got it down on paper. Well, better late than never as they say!

The goal for February was to ‘love more’. Now this wasn’t a massive success, but it wasn’t a failure either. I did say in my post though that it would take more than 28 days to conquer. Man, I love being right.

I always knew that my constant nagging and snappiness was not only causing negative emotions for the recipient, but was taking a toll on my mentality too. Yet, I never did anything to combat the issue. Last month I felt like I have made progress though and I credit it to the advice and analysis that Gretchen provides in her book. Yes, sometimes I just could not resist a moan but there were more times where I recalled the chapter in my mind and managed to stop myself. While I can’t speak for the experiences of those around me, my conscious decision to nag less has had a positive impact on me. I look forward to the peace of mind which mastering these skills will bring.

Now, onto March, and the challenge to aim higher. I am really looking forward to this; in fact I have begun working on it already. If one thing is for certain, it is my want and need to aim higher. I am not sure exactly what I am aiming for right now, but am taking some steps towards a direction which can only be described as up.

Firstly, I have enrolled myself in German lessons. No matter where I will end up in the future, having another language will always be a benefit. I know that I have previously complained about the language, and while we are still not soul mates, I have a new determination to at least become an acquaintance of Mr. Deutsch. So far I am actually really enjoying the classes, not just for the learning aspect, but for also having it as a hobby. Keep an eye out for some updates as I continue my journey to bilingualism.

As many of you may know, I yearn to be a writer either professionally or as a side project. This blog is certainly a creative outlet for me but I am looking for more. I have some ideas about how I want to steer this blog and indeed my online presence in the future but these are at a much too early stage to divulge just yet. What I can share with you is that I have signed up for some online classes in writing which will help me to further expand by capabilities. For those of you who don’t know Coursera, they are definitely worth checking out. Offering free online courses from prestigious universities worldwide, there is something for everyone. I am not going to waste my time explaining, instead click here and go directly to the wonderful world of education. Let me know if you sign up for any!

Wish me look until the next update!

  1. I just signed up for the Coursera English Composition 1 module and another module on food economics.

Good luck with the German lessons, my younger sister who lives in Munich has struggled with her German grammar since moving there.
